ODC Theater Presents Theater Unplugged with Larry Arrington August 29, 8 PM ODC Theater Unplugged, is a recurring platform offering a rare and candid look into the creative process. This edition features a work in progress by ODC Theater Resident Artist Larry Arrington called No Quarter , a folk dance that looks at the shadow side and spiritual underpinnings of euroentric cultural tenets through a long lens of time. Notions of gods branch from the residue of these tenets. Sifting through consequences of time, Arrington is considering at archetypes of power and paternity. She is using Astrological time, not only as a deeply held personal practice but also as a tool to track the western notions of objectivity. The ideological movement from the many to the one span the Hellenistic Era, rise of monotheism, to the Copernican Revolution and the Enlightenment, to today. ODC Theater Resident Artist Larry Arrington is a dance-artist working in hybrids of idea and practice. Her work in dance (time/space/body/whole) pivots around a desire to orient towards the capacities within each of us— capacities that can glimpse unseen and unutterable horizons. Her body is her life and her life is her work. Photo by Melissa Lewis

Greetings beautiful people! Some of you will know me as a choreographer, others as a teacher, some as a counseling astrologer, and some as a writer and creator of internet content. I created my Patreon page as a place to steadily support ALL of that work. We don't live in a world that values my interests. These fields come with a great deal of uncompensated labor and financial precarity. As I get older I understand the value of what I do more and more. I understand the richness of dance, art, astrology, and spirit within this wounded world. I am creating new avenues to support my work better. With Patreon I am able to have direct relationships of support with the people who enjoy my creations. If you dig what I do consider becoming a patron.
For dance supporters, Patreon is a wonderful way to directly support artists! I'll be sharing photos, videos, and writings of and about the work! I've created an $11 and $33/month tier, but you are welcome to donate at any amount you like!
